Tim Norman is a fanatic fly angler that has set his roots in the Pacific Northwest. Based in Portland, Oregon Tim’s career as an Environmental Scientist has continually been guided by his passion for fly fishing and protecting and restoring our aquatic ecosystems for future generations. Growing up in a sportsmen’s family in northern Michigan Tim was lucky to be constantly exposed to the great outdoor experience. Throughout his formal education as a Biologist Tim was mentored by a number of respected fly shop owners and guides instilling the traditions, camaraderie and folklore that has made the sport and industry of fly fishing what it is today. Along the way Tim zigzagged his way across the country’s premiere fisheries guiding, teaching and always striving to learn about fishing the fly.
Throughout his career as a consultant Tim has worked long hours and traveled to remote locations only to get up even earlier the next day and embark on his next emergent expedition with fly and rod in hand. His passion for angling led him to connect with Soul River where he volunteers his time to serve inner-city youth and veterans by connecting them to the outdoors, using fly fishing as a base to build relationships through mentorship and creating ambassadors of the outdoors.
