World Environment Day (WED) on June 5

The United Nations Environment Programme Regional Office of North America has selected the City of Portland to host this year’s World Environment Day (WED) on June 5, 2013. Soul River is pleased to be selected as an sponsor for this wonderful event and excited to share with the world fly fishing techniques of the sport to the public celebrating the health of the environment with everyone. The world theme this year is “Reduce your Footprint”. The rally will be held at the Rose Festival’s entertainment venue, the RoZone. This part of Tom McCall Waterfront Park will be filled with fun, educational activities for children of all ages–all free to the public. Activities include story-telling, mask-making, fly casting and fly tying, trash art and the chance to be part of the Procession of the Species, a mini-parade around the waterfront featuring folks dressed as their favorite animals, led by Joy Now performers and stilt-walkers.

Come out and be part of this day! Family, friends and kids come all!!!!! Come meet Soul River where we will be giving casting lessons to all ages and advocating the sport of fly fishing with our unique urban stylistic approach to all generations. Come out and meet us and hangout with us on this day!
