We are all cut from the same cloth where blood has been shed over the course of centuries, where soldiers have given their lives for freedom, and leaders have fought for the pursuit of freedom. Mothers and fathers have worked innumerable hours on the job to make right for their children so they can have opportunity. The same cloth sews us all together as brothers and sisters, across the nation with diverse personalities, beliefs, cultures, races, genders, socio-economic statuses. Yet we are still finding displacement amongst ourselves to connect, communicate, and love one another. The most simple, yet most complicated to do. As a nation, we face many challenges. Some of us are tested on a daily basis providing two options – to love selflessly or to disregard love entirely and choose to be selfish. While in the Arctic, youth and veterans celebrated cherished moments along with physical challenges that played into their individual experiences, as well as the bond that they forged all while expeditioning the wild open-space and sacred Arctic and Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Each of the youth and veterans has a different perspective and insight. Each lens shows a different testimony to what was experienced, learned, and explored. And, although there are multiple perspectives, they are all a unified front which points directly at the desire to protect this utmost beautiful, wild wonderland and it’s wildlife that is nestled at the top of the globe in hopes that future generations can continue to appreciate, respect, and protect the public lands and rivers we all dream about.
